In characteristic \(p >0\), a vector bundle \(V\) on a smooth projective variety \(X\) is called \textit{strongly semistable} if, \(F\) being the absolute Frobenius, \((F^n)^*V\) is semistable for any \(n\). It is known that for \(\dim X=1\) and \(V\) not strongly semistable, there is \(t\) such that \((F^t)^*V\) decomposes into strongly semistable direct summands [\textit{I. Biswas} and \textit{A. J. Parameswaran}, C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 339, No. 5, 355--358 (2004; Zbl 1062.14042); \textit{A. Langer}, Duke Math. J. 128, No. 3, 511--540 (2005; Zbl 1081.14018)]. For \(\dim X >1\) this property is no longer true [\textit{I. Biswas} et al., C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 346, No. 9-10, 545--548 (2008; Zbl 1141.14025)]. The aim of this paper is to ``produce a smooth projective scheme \(X\) over \(\mathbb Z\), a rank \(2\) vector bundle \(V\) on \(X\) with a line subbundle \(L\) having the following property. For a prime \(p\), let \(F_p\) be the absolute Frobenius of \(X_p\), and let \(L_p \subset V_p\) be the restriction of \(L\subset V\). Then for almost all primes \(p\), and for all \(t \geq 0\), \((F_p^*)^tL_p \subset (F_p^*)^tV_p\) is a non-split Harder-Narasimhan filtration. In particular, \((F_p^*)^tV_p\) is not a direct sum of strongly semistable bundles for any \(t\). This construction works for any full flag variety \(G/B\), with semisimple rank of \(G \geq 2\).'' For the construction one uses Borel-Weil-Bott theorem in characteristic \(0\), and Frobenius splitting in characteristic \(p\).
