Let \(L\) be an oriented link in a closed oriented 3-manifold \(X,\) and let \(S^1\) be the circle. Suppose that there is a fibering map \(p: X\setminus L \rightarrow S^1\) such that for all \(t\in S^1\) the fiber \(p^{-1}(t)\) coincides with the interior of a compact surface \(\Sigma_t\) and \(\partial\Sigma_t= L.\) Then \((L,p)\) is called an open book decomposition or, equivalently, an open book of \(L.\) There is a well-known correspondence between open books and contact structures on \(X\), see [\textit{J. B. Etnyre}, Clay Mathematics Proceedings 5, 103--141 (2006; Zbl 1108.53050)]. The authors investigate a special case of links associated with rational complex surface singularities. In particular, they construct in explicit manner the Milnor open books corresponding to some canonical contact structures on such singularities, making use of Legendrian surgery diagrams [\textit{R. E. Gompf}, Ann. Math. (2) 148, No. 2, 619--693 (1998; Zbl 0919.57012)], properties of Milnor genus and Milnor norms [\textit{S. Altinok} and \textit{M. Bhupal}, Contemp. Math. 475, 1--10 (2008; Zbl 1195.57057)], relations with small Seifert fibered 3-manifolds [\textit{H. Wu}, Commun. Contemp. Math. 8, No. 2, 219--246 (2006; Zbl 1104.57015)], and so on.
