A simplex is said to be replicating if it admits a dissection into (at least two) congruent simplices each similar to the original simplex. The paper shows that in every dimension \(n\geq 3\) there are replicating \(n\)-simplices that are not Hill-simplices. A Hill-simplex is an \(n\)-simplex whose vertices are of the form \(o,v_1,v_{1}+v_{2},\dots,v_{1}+v_{2}+\dots+v_{n}\), where \(v_1,\dots,v_n\) are linearly independent vectors of the same length and with the same angle between any two vectors [\textit{H. Hadwiger}, Gaz. Mat., Lisb. 12, 47--48 (1951; Zbl 0044.15707)].
