Recall that a complex number \(\alpha\) is said to satisfy the height reducing property if there exists a finite subset \(F\) of the integers \(\mathbb Z\) such that \(F[\alpha] = \mathbb Z[\alpha]\). Such complex numbers are known to be algebraic numbers. In this article it is shown that the cardinality of \(F\) is bounded from below by \(\max \{2, |M_\alpha(0)|\}\), where \(M_\alpha\) is the minimal polynomial of \(\alpha\) over the rationals. It is also shown that there is an algorithm for determining the polynomial of minimal height of a given algebraic number if \(\alpha\) does not have any conjugate with modulus \(1\). For the Part I, see [Cent. Eur. J. Math. 11, No. 9, 1616--1627 (2013; Zbl 1356.11074)] and [Indag. Math., New Ser. 26, No. 1, 24--27 (2015; Zbl 1308.11096)].
