In the birth and immigration process of individuals, the distribution of the size of the families in the order of their appearance in the population and its asymptotic properties are given. The corresponding jump chain process is a non-homogeneous Markov chain, which has immediate connection to the genealogical structure arising from the distribution of allelic types in an age ordered sample from a stationary infinitely many neutral alleles model.
