The article is devoted to studying boundary value problems for an operator-differential equation of the following general form: \[ Mu = B(t)u_t - L(t)u = f,\quad t\in (0,T),\quad T\leq\infty, \] where \(B(t)\), \(L(t)\) are linear operators defined in a Hilbert space \(E\). Here invertibility of \(B\) is not supposed, in particular, \(\ker B \neq 0\). In general, the authors consider equations which actually are not of Sobolev type. The operators \(L\), \(B\) can depend on \(t\) and the self-conjugacy condition for \(L\) is replaced by the dissipativity property of the operator under consideration. The authors expose a collection of existence and uniqueness results on solvability of boundary value problems of mixed type to the above-mentioned equation in a Hilbert space \(W\) defined as \[ W = \left\{u(t) \in L_2(0,T;H_1) : \frac{d}{dt}B(t)u(t) \in L_2(0,T;H_1')\right\}. \] The authors note that the problems posed are incorrect in the space \(L_2\).
