For a closed operator \(A\) with dense domain \(\mathcal{D}(A)\) in a complex Banach space \(\mathcal{B}\), let \[ C^\infty(A)=\bigcap_{n\in\mathbb{N}_0}\mathcal{D}(A^n)\qquad (\mathbb{N}_0=\{0,1,2,\ldots\}). \] For a number \(\beta\geq 0\), let \[ \mathcal{C}_{\{\beta\}}(A)=\{x\in C^\infty(A):\exists\alpha>0\;\exists c>0\;\forall k\in \mathbb{N}_0,\;\|A^kx\|\leq c\alpha^k k^{k\beta}\}, \] \[ \mathcal{C}_{(\beta)}(A)=\{x\in C^\infty(A):\forall\alpha>0\;\exists c>0\;\forall k\in \mathbb{N}_0,\;\|A^kx\|\leq c\alpha^k k^{k\beta}\}. \] The authors find, in terms of the spectrum of \(A\) and estimates of the rate of growth of its resolvent, conditions under which \(\overline{\mathcal{C}_{(\beta)}(A)}=\mathcal{B}\) and \(\overline{\mathcal{C}_{\{\beta\}}(A)}=\mathcal{B}\).
