    The authors study existence of positive solutions to the equation \[ -\Delta u+u=g(x,u)+f(x)\quad \text{in} {\mathbb R}^N,\qquad u>0\quad \text{in} {\mathbb R}^N,\qquad u\in H^1({\mathbb R}^N) \] where \(g\in C({\mathbb R}^N\times {\mathbb R})\) satisfies \(g(x,0)\equiv 0\) and is of superlinear growth.
