This paper concerns porous hydrodynamic periodic structures which locally minimize their area subject to specific boundary constraints. The authors consider 6 types of periodic cells that form a porous medium, given in Table 1. The no-slip condition is considered on the solid-liquid interfaces. The effective permeability depends on the micro-structure of cells, on the corresponding Reynolds number and on external forces. A numerical procedure is used to get the effective permeability, with important applications in some usual cases. The solid structures in each cell are quite complicated and some seem to present singularities, or ``very narrow'' regions. Some results in this field are given in [\textit{S. A. Nazarov}, Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 20, No. 3, 219--243 (1997; Zbl 0880.35040)]. Numerical procedures in such cases must be carefully justified. On the other hand, the authors do not refer to the results obtained by using the homogenization method. Important elements are given in [\textit{D. Cioranescu} et al., The periodic unfolding method. Theory and applications to partial differential problems. Singapore: Springer (2018; Zbl 1428.35002)].
