The paper under review adds more information about the Terraccini loci of algebraic varieties. Let \(X\) be a non-degenerate projective variety of dimension \(n\ge 1\) over an algebraically closed field \(\mathbb{K}\) embedded in \(\mathbb{P^N}\). Let \(S\) be a finite subset of smooth points of \(X\) whose cardinality is \(k\). We say that \(S\) is in the \(k\)th Terraccini locus of \(X\) whenever the \(n\)-dimensional tangent spaces of \(X\) at the points of \(S\) are linearly dependent and their projective linear span is not the ambient space \(\mathbb{P}^N\). A recent result of \textit{E. Ballico} and \textit{L. Chiantini} [Milan J. Math. 89, No. 1, 1--17 (2021; Zbl 1472.14059)] is that the emptiness of Terracini loci of \(X\) implies non-defectivity of secant vof \(X\). The converse is not true even for very ample embeddings. The purpose of this paper is to show that for any ample embedding of a variety of dimension at least two in a projective space, all high enough degree Veronese re-embeddings have non-empty Terraccini loci.
