The concept of a \(*\)-topology \(t*(I, J)\), where \(I\) is an ideal of a topological space \((X,t)\), which is finer than \(t\), has been a prevalent concept in the realm of set-topology for a long time. The authors introduce strongly-\(I\)-locally closed sets in an ideal topological space with the help of \(*\)-closed sets. As usual, a characterization theorem is enunciated; weakly-\(I\)-\(LC\) sets are also introduced and the independence of weakly-\(I\)-\(LC\) sets, strongly-\(I\)-\(LC\) sets, \(Ig\)-closed sets and \(Irg\)-closed sets is justified by suitable examples. In the discussion on the decomposition of \(*\)-continuity, the definitions of \(*\)-irresoluteness and some other notions of generalized continuity are introduced; characterization theorems for \(*\)-continuity are enunciated.
