    The author presents some sufficient conditions under which the Gelfand transform of a topological algebra is a dense subalgebra of the algebra of all continuous functions on the spectrum of the algebra, equipped with the topology of compact convergence in the spectrum. In other words, the author finds sufficient conditions for a topolgical algebra to be local.\N\NThis problem has been addressed and partially solved by several mathematicians, including R.~M. Brooks, A.~Mallios and the author himself. However, the results of this paper generalize the previously obtained results.\N\NIt is assumed that all topological algebras considered in this paper have a nonempty spectrum.\N\NThe presented sets of sufficient conditions for a topological algebra to be local are the following:\N\begin{itemize}\N\item[1)] \Nthe topological algebra is locally \(m\)-convex algebra, its spectrum is locally compact and the Gelfand transform is continuous;\N\item[2)] \Nthe topological algebra is a commutative unital semisimple normal locally \(m\)-convex algebra with compact spectrum.\N\end{itemize}
