The author continues the study [\textit{E. I. Yakovlev}, Funct. Anal. Appl. 24, No. 4, 314-323 (1990); translation from Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 24, No. 4, 63-73 (1990; Zbl 0712.58020)] of the variational problem with fixed ends for multivalued Novikov functionals [\textit{S. P. Novikov}, Russ. Math. Surv. 37, No. 5, 1-56 (1982); translation from Usp. Mat. Nauk 37, No. 5(227), 3-49 (1982; Zbl 0571.58011)] generated by closed 2-forms with values in a \(k\)-dimensional vector space. Two general results on the structure of the extremals are obtained. As consequence, if \(k=1\), the existence of a solution follows from the well-known theorems of Hopf-Rinow, Morse and Smale. If \(k>1\), many cases in which a lot of extremals exist are found.
