One considers an M/G/1 queueing model with a gated random order service discipline. It means that the entering customers first are gathered in an unordered waiting room and they are put in random order to an ordered service queue at the server when its queue becomes empty, the transfer time is equal to 0. The model is motivated by a situation in multi-access communication in cable networks. The paper studies the joint distribution of the times a customer spends on both sides of the gate and the joint distribution of the number of customers on both sides of the gate.
