The Navier-Stokes equations to the steady compressible flow is considered in a bounded domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^2\) \[ \begin{aligned} -\mu\Delta u-(\lambda+\mu)\nabla\text{div}\,u+\rho(u\cdot\nabla)u+\nabla P(\rho)&=\rho f, \quad \text{div}\,(\rho u)=0 \\ u&=0\quad \text{on}\;\partial\Omega.\end{aligned} \tag{1} \] Here \(u(x)\) is the velocity, \(\rho(x)\) is the density, \(f\in L^2(\Omega)\) is a given function, the pressure \(P(\rho)\) is the function of the form \[ P(\rho)=a\rho \] with positive constant \(a\). The case \(P(\rho)=a\rho\,^\gamma\) with \(\gamma>1\) was investigated by \textit{P.-L. Lions} [Mathematical topics in fluid mechanics. Vol. 2: Compressible models. Oxford Sci. Publ., (1998; Zbl 0908.76004)]. The existence of the weak solution to the problem (1) is proved by using the approximation for the pressure term \[ P_\delta(\rho)=a\rho+\delta\rho^2. \]
