Let \(S_{\alpha}\) be the sum of all \(j^{\alpha}\) with \(1\leq j\leq n\). The authors point out that \(S_{\alpha +1}\) can be obtained from \(S_{\alpha}\) by a simple integration, even for non-integral exponents \(\alpha\).
