This paper computes the relative \(K_ 2\) of a truncated polynomial ring \(k[t]/(t^ q)\) relative to an ideal \((t^ n)\), when k is a perfect field. This is then used, as by \textit{J. Stienstra} in Algebraic K-theory, Proc. Conf., Evanston 1980, Lect. Notes Math. 854, 409-455 (1981; Zbl 0463.13007) to get lower bounds on \(K_ 3 (R[t]/(t^ n))\) where R is regular and essentially of finite type over k.
