This paper is a brief survey of two specific research directions in algebraic logic. One is the representation theory for cylindric relativized set algebras, including the theorems of Resek and Thompson. The other is the representation problem for cylindric algebras in some non-well-founded set theories where the axiom of foundation is replaced by Boffa's weak anti-foundation axiom.
