Define \(a(n)\) by \[ \sum_{n \geq 0} a(n)q^n := \prod_{n \geq 1} \frac{1}{(1-q^n)(1-q^{2n})} \] and \(E(t)\) by \[ E(t) := \prod_{n \geq 1} (1-q^{tn}). \] The authors show that \[ \sum_{n \geq 1} a(5n-3)q^n = 3q\frac{E(5)E(10)}{E(1)^2E(2)^2} + 25q^2\frac{E(5)^3E(10)^3}{E(1)^4E(2)^4} + 125q^3\frac{E(5)^5E(10)^5}{E(1)^6E(2)^6}, \] as well as a number of similar identities. They also show that \[ a(5^jn + d_j) \equiv 0 \pmod{5^{\lfloor \frac{j}{2} \rfloor}}, \] where \(d_j\) is the reciprocal of \(8\) modulo \(5^j\). The proofs use modular forms and functions.
