The paper deals with the second-order Fredholm integro-differential equation \[ y= f\Biggl(x,y(x), \int^a_0 k(x,t,y(t)dt)\Biggr),\quad 0\leq x\leq a,\;y(0)= y_0,\;y'(0)= y_0'.\tag{1} \] The author develops a method for the spline approximation of the solution of (1). An estimation of the error is obtained. Convergence and stability of the method are investigated and numerical examples are given.
