Stability of functional partial differential equations

From MaRDI portal

The authors consider the asymptotic stability of the class of linear functional partial differential equations of the form \[ \frac{dx}{dt}=Ax(t)+ax(t)+\sum^{m}_{i=1}b_ i\int^{\infty}_{0}x(t-s)d\mu_ i(s). \] Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the roots of the associated characteristic equation to have negative real parts for all measures \(\mu_ i\) satisfying \(\int^{\infty}_{0}| d\mu_ i(s)| =1\) and \(\int^{\infty}_{0}d\mu_ i(s)\geq 0\).
