Statistical problems for random sets

From MaRDI portal

The paper gives a survey on several statistical issues concerning random closed sets. Starting with the capacity functional and its empirical counterpart of general random closed sets, the author describes the minimum contrast estimation in a rather general setting, discusses various expectations of almost surely compact random sets (among them the Aumann, Fréchet, Doss and Vorobyev expectations) and gives a condensed description of various random compact sets models. Last but not least, the main problems and techniques in statistical inference of Boolean models are sketched. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0879.00052].
