Systems of differential inclusions with competing operators and variable exponents
The paper is concerned with solvability of a Dirichlet system of differential inclusions having the form\N\[\N\begin{cases} \left ( -\Delta _{p_1( \cdot)}u_1 + \mu_1\Delta _{q_1( \cdot)}u_1 , -\Delta _{p_2( \cdot)}u_2 + \mu_2\Delta _{q_2( \cdot)}u_2 \right ) \in \partial F(u_1,u_2) & \mbox{ in } \Omega\\\Nu_1 =u_2=0 & \mbox{ on } \partial \Omega, \end{cases}\N\]\Nwhere \(\mu_1 , \mu_2\) are real parameters, \(\Delta _{r( \cdot)}\) is the \(r( \cdot )\)-Laplace operator and \(\partial F\) denotes the generalized gradient in the sense of Clarke of the locally Lipschitz function \(F:\mathbb{R}^2 \to \mathbb{R}\). Under appropriate assumptions, the authors obtain the existence of both weak solutions and so-called generalized solutions. The approach is variational and makes use of elements of nonsmooth analysis for locally Lipschitz functionals combined with a Galerkin scheme, in the frame of the Sobolev spaces with variable exponent.
