Technical stability of autonomous control systems with variable structure
The author obtains a number of sufficient conditions which guarantee stability and asymptotic stability of the difference equation \(\Delta z_n=p_nz_n+q_n\bar z_n+G(n,z_n,\bar z_n),\) where \(p_n,q_n,z_n\in \mathbb C, G:\mathbb N\times \mathbb C\times \mathbb C \mapsto \mathbb C, |G|\leq g_n|z_n|^{1+\alpha }, n\in \mathbb N, \alpha >0\). These conditions are formulated in terms of \(p_n,q_n,g_n\). The method of studying is based on a difference analogue of the Bihari integral inequality. The results obtained are applied to the second order difference equation \(y_{n+1}-2\lambda_ny_n+y_{n-1}=F(n,y_{n-1},\Delta y_{n-1})\) in the critical case where \(|\lambda_n|=1+o(1), n\to \infty\). Some critical cases in studying stability and instability of nonautonomous differential equations were considered by the author [Ukr. Mat. Zh. 49, No. 5, 720-724 (1997; Zbl 0890.34044), ibid. 51, No. 4, 835-841 (1999)].
