The 2-Pascal triangle and a related Riordan array
For a natural number \(s\), the bi\({}^s\)nomial cofficient \(\binom{n}{k}_s\) is \([t^k](1+t+\ldots +t^s)^n\), if \(k\in\{0,1,2,\ldots,sn\}\), otherwise 0. For \(s=2\), this numbers are known as trinomial coefficients, and they have a substantial literature, in fact \textit{L. Euler} has written a paper about them [Novi Comment. Acad. Sci. Petropolitanae 11, 124--143 (1765)]. The paper expresses the trinomial triangle from a Riordan array. Generating functions for certain sums of along a finite ray through the trinomial triangle are developed. The paper also provides the inverse transform of the trinomial transform.
