The embedding problem in algebras with involution
In this paper, the author focuses on the embedding problem for central simple algebras and for simple algebras with involution, both cases over an algebraically closed field \(K\) of characteristic different from 2.\N\NThe embedding problem consists of considering \(A\) and \(B\) two \(K\)-algebras such that \(A\) satisfies the polynomial identities of \(B\) (and possibly some additional ones), and investigate whether there exists an embedding of \(A\) into \(B\).\N\NSeveral cases where the answer to the embedding problem is positive are presented. The main result obtained by the author can be summarized as follows. Let \(A\) and \(B\) be two finite-dimensional central simple algebras with involution over the algebraically closed field \(K\) of characteristic different from 2, \(A\) with involution of orthogonal type (respectively, \(B\) with involution of symplectic type), and \(A\) satisfying the identities with involution of the algebra \(B\). Then, there exists an involution preserving embedding of \(A\) into \(B\) (respectively, an embedding that preserves the involutions of \(A\) into \(B\)).
