The moduli of substructures of a compact complex space
Let \(X\) be a compact complex space and let \({\mathcal A}\) be a subalgebra of the structure sheaf \({\mathcal O}_X\). The quotient \((X, {\mathcal A})\) of \((X, {\mathcal O}_X)\) is called a substructure of \(X\) if \((X,{\mathcal A})\) is itself a complex space. The author's aim is to construct a fine moduli space \(W_X\) for the substructures of \(X\). For this, it is not sufficient to consider the subfunctor \(U\) of the functor \(Q\) of families of quotients of \(X\) for which \(U(S)\) consists of all families of substructures of \(X\) over \(S\), because this functor is in general not representable by a complex space. It is necessary to impose a flatness condition for relative differential modules of higher order. This then gives the required moduli space \(W_X\) as an open subset of the corresponding flatification of the moduli space \(Q_X\).
