Theory of generalized fractal transforms
From MaRDI portal
This paper gives a unified treatment of the various fractal transform methods for the representation and compression of computer images which have been based, in some way, on the method of iterated function systems. The authors' approach is based on a view of fractal transform methods as viable methods of approximating functions and measures in the same spirit as Fourier series/transforms, orthogonal function expansions and, more recently, wavelet expansions.
