Toeplitz operators on Bergman spaces with variable exponents

From MaRDI portal

Let \(dA\) denote the Lebesgue area measure on the unit disk \(\mathbb{D}\), normalized so that the measure of \(\mathbb{D}\) equals \(1\). A nonnegative measurable function \(p(\cdot): \mathbb{D}\to \mathbb{R}\) is called log-Hölder continuous if there exists a constant \(C>0\) such that \N\[\N|p(x)-p(y)|\leq \frac{C}{\log(e+\frac{1}{|x-y|})}\N\]\Nfor all \(x, y\in \mathbb{D}\) with \(|x-y| < \frac{1}{2}\). Then the variable exponent set \(\mathcal{P}^{\log}(\mathbb{D})\) is consisting of all log-Hölder continuous measurable function \(p(\cdot)\) with \(1<ess \inf_{z\in\mathbb{D}}p(z)\leq ess \sup_{z\in\mathbb{D}}p(z)< \infty\).\N\NGiven a function \(p(\cdot)\in\mathcal{P}^{\log}(\mathbb{D})\), the variable exponent Bergman spaces \(A^{p(\cdot)}(\mathbb{D})\) is the space of holomorphic functions \(f(z)\) on \(\mathbb{D}\) with \[\int_{\mathbb{D}}|f(z)|^{p(z)} dA(z)<\infty.\] Given \(z\in \mathbb{D}\), let \(K_{z}(w)=\frac{1}{(1-w\overline{z})^2}\) be the well-known Bergman reproducing kernel. Then for \(\phi\in L^{1}(\mathbb{D},dA)\), the Toeplitz operator \({T}_{\phi}\) with symbol \(\phi\) is defined by \N\[\N{T}_{\phi}f(z)=\int_{\mathbb{D}}f(w)\phi(w)\overline{K_{z}(w)}dA(w).\N\]\N[\textit{G. R. Chacón} and \textit{H. Rafeiro}, Mediterr. J. Math. 13, No. 5, 3525--3536 (2016; Zbl 1354.30049)] have given some necessary and sufficient conditions for \({T}_{\phi}\) to be bounded or compact on variable exponent Bergman spaces \(A^{p(\cdot)}(\mathbb{D})\). In the present paper, the authors studied the boundedness and compactness of \({T}_{\phi}\) from \(A^{p(\cdot)}(\mathbb{D})\) to \(A^{q(\cdot)}(\mathbb{D})\) with the log-Hölder continuous variable exponents. The characterization was given in terms of Carleson measures.
