Toward optimal exponent pairs

From MaRDI portal

This paper addresses the long-standing challenge of optimizing exponent pairs \((k,\ell)\) in analytic number theory. The authors develop a unified geometric framework -- a convex hull \(H\) that encapsulates all known one-dimensional exponent pairs. By transforming the selection of optimal pairs into a numerical optimization problem over \(H\), they achieve improvements in central problems including:\N\NBounds for the Riemann zeta-function \(\zeta(s)\) in the critical strip.\N\NEstimates of moments of \(\zeta(\frac 12+it)\).\N\NThe generalized Dirichlet divisor problem.\N\NZero-density estimates for \(\zeta(s)\).
