Uncountable extended residually finite groups
From MaRDI portal
The authors study uncountable groups \(G\) in which all large subgroups are closed in the profinite topology and also groups where every large proper subgroup is an ERF-group or an extended residually finite group, that is, a group in which every subgroup is closed. They prove that such a group \(G\) is ERF if \(G\) is nilpotent-by-finite or an FC-group. For metabelian groups, they show that \(G\) is ERF whenever every large proper subgroup is ERF.
