Unitary implementations of one-parameter squeezing groups

From MaRDI portal

In the theoretical description of squeezing processes with infinite modes \(e_k\) and Hamiltonians of the type \[ H= \sum^\infty_{k=1} \Biggl[{s_k\over 2} (a^*(e_k)^2+ a(e_k)^2)+ c_ka^*(e_k)a(e_k)\Biggr] \] one can associate to \(H\) the class of symplectic one parameter groups \(T_t= \exp\{it(C- JS)\}\) (where \(C= \sum^\infty_{k=1} c_k| e_k\rangle\langle e_k|\), \(S= \sum^\infty_{k=1} s_k| e_k\rangle\langle e_k|\), \(J= \sum^\infty_{k=1} \langle\cdot| e_k\rangle\langle e_k|\)) and the associated Bogoliubov automorphisms \(\alpha_{T_t}\) of the CCR-algebra. In this work are given necessary and sufficient conditions for the unitary implementability of the \(\alpha_{T_t}\) in the Fock representation and in representations symplectically related (but inequivalent) to Fock, together with conditions for the existence of \(H\). Applications in the theory of quantization in QED and in the Luttinger model are pointed out.
