Wave-like solutions for a class of parabolic models
From MaRDI portal
A reduction approach is developed to determine exact solutions of nonlinear second-order parabolic PDEs. The technique makes use of the theory of quasilinear hyperbolic systems. Wave type solutions are obtained by solving a consistent overdetermined system of PDEs. Examples are given and in some cases solutions are obtained in closed form.
