This paper is a continuation of papers by the author and \textit{F. Sommen} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 185, No. 1, 189-206 (1994; Zbl 0822.30003) and references there]. Here monogenic functions in an \(m\)-dimensional variable \(\vec x\) were considered, where this variable was split into two parts, \(\vec x= \vec x_1+ \vec x_2\). Bi-axial monogenic functions were then constructed using the group \(\text{Spin} (m_1) \times \text{Spin} (m_2)\). The author considers the bi-axial Gegenbauer polynomials constructed there, and proves that they are closely related to the generalised Gegenbauer polynomials constructed by Cnops. Moreover, using a Cauchy transform which is similar to the one used in the complex case, associated functions, the bi-axial Gegenbauer functions of the second kind, are defined. The author shows that they can be expressed by an integral using Legendre polynomials. Moreover they give eigenfunctions of the modified Dirac operator \[ (-\vec x^2_1- 1)^{l+ q/2- \alpha} \partial_{\vec x_1} (-\vec x^2_1 - 1)^{- l- q/2+ \alpha+ 1} \partial_{\vec x_1}, \] where \(l\) and \(q\) are integer parameters, and \(\alpha\) is the exponent of the weight function.
