Let \(H\) be a self-adjoint operator in a Hilbert space \(\mathcal H\). The authors introduce the notion of \textit{ultra-weak time operator} for \(H\), where the canonical commutator relation with respect to \(H\) is realized just by some sesquilinear form. (So an ultra-weak time operator is not an operator, but a form). Every weak time operator (and thus every time operator) gives rise to an ultra-weak time operator. The authors show existence of ultra-weak time operators for self-adjoint \(H\) with discrete spectra accumulating at \(0\). As an application, they show that the Schrödinger operator for the hydrogen atom in \(L^2(\mathbb R^d)\) has an ultra-weak time operator.
