    Let \((S,K_ S,\mu_ S)\), \((T,K_ T,\mu_ T)\) be \(\sigma\)-finite measure spaces, where \(S\), \(T\) are subsets of the real line \(R\), and let \(L^ 0(S)\), \(L^ 0(T)\) denote sets of a.e. finite measurable functions on \(S\), \(T\), respectively. The integral operator \(K\) is defined by \(K(f)(t)=\int_ S k(t,s)f(s)ds\), and has domain \(D_ K=\{f\in L^ 0(S)\): \(K(f)(t)<\infty\) for almost all \(t\) in \(T\}\). The results of this paper identify extensions \(\widetilde D_ K\) of \(D_ K\) which are maximal solid topological subspaces of \(L^ 0(S)\), where \(k\) is of the form \(k(t,s)=\exp i\varphi(t,s)\), and \(\varphi: R^ 2\to R\) is a continuous real-valued function of the form \(\varphi(t,s)=\varphi(0,s)+\varphi_ 0(t)s^ m+\sum_{j=1}^ \infty \varphi_ j(t)s^{m-j}\), or \(\varphi(t,s)=| t-s|^ \beta\), \(\beta>0\). In one of the theorems of the paper it is shown that \[ \widetilde D_ K=\ell^ 2(\beta,L^ 1)=\bigl\{u\in L_{\text{loc}}^ 1:\;\sum\bigl(\int_{\beta_ n}^{\beta_{n+1}} | u(s)| ds\bigr)^ 2<\infty\bigr\}. \] Previous considerations in which \(k(t,s)=\exp(iP(t-s))\) are contained in a paper by the author and \textit{I. Labuda} [Indag. Math. 89, 87-98 (1986; Zbl 0622.47032)].
