Recent results on connected finite transitive graphs with polynomial growth are surveyed. This paper is some kind of counterpart of ``A survey on spectra of infinite graphs'' by \textit{B. Mohar} and \textit{W. Woess} [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 21, No. 3, 209-234 (1989; Zbl 0645.05048)]. A set of basic concepts on growth functions is introduced. The surveyed results are fixed in theorems. Three of them establish properties of connected locally transitive finite graphs. The growth's behaviour of groups of graphs is characterized in six theorems, one corollary and one proposition. Similarly \(S\)-transitivity and covering are surveyed. A bibliography of 45 titles, published from 1943 to 1991, supports the survey.
