Subject of this research is the influence of the pre-stress on the elastic moduli. The linearized stress-strain relation of a hyperelastic material is expressed in terms of the stress associated with a self- equilibrated inhomogeneous finite pre-deformation and the small deformation and rotation superimposed on the former. As an example for a residual stress distribution, the eversion of a homogeneous isotropic incompressible shell is considered first for a general strain energy function and thereafter for Mooney material. The authors mastered intricate mathematical operations and present their interesting results clearly.
