The authors prove that the path algebra of a finite quiver admits a Hopf algebra structure if and only if the quiver is the Cayley graph of a finite group \(G\) with respect to a map of \(G\) to the natural numbers which is constant on conjugacy classes. The classifications of Hopf bimodules over the group algebra of a finite group gives the quantum structures that one can impose on path algebras. This study of Hopf bimodules over a group algebra of \(G\) is related closely to the irreducible modules over the Drinfeld double of this group algebra. The quantum groups associated to symmetric Cartan matrices are quotients of the path algebras of Cayley graphs of abelian groups. The authors study this case using Fourier transforms of Hopf bimodules over \(kG\). In particular, previous work of \textit{C. Cibils} when \(G\) is cyclic [Commun. Math. Phys. 157, 459-477 (1993; Zbl 0806.16039)] is extended here to general quantum groups.
