From the conclusions: We examine the feasibility of fuzzy control on suppressing structural vibrations. We define in a simple way a relationship between displacement and velocity by establishing a fuzzy inference rule. In doing so, we can obtain the required control force in a simple, speedy and economic way. The structural displacement and velocity output with fuzzy control have a higher damping vibration efficiency than without ones. Additionally, in the process of fuzzy control the overlap ratio of membership function and control effect are closely related. So, the overlap ratio 0.3 produces better control effect than overlap ratio 0.5 in terms of linguistic output responses.
