    A description of the invariant and oriented manifold methods with application to a controllability problem is given. The presentation is based on \textit{T. Levi-Civita} and \textit{U. Amaldi}, Lezioni di meccanica razionale. Vol. 2. Bologna, Zanichelli (1952; Zbl 0047.17302); \textit{A. M. Kovalev} and \textit{V. F. Shcherbak}, Controllability, observability, identifiability of dynamical systems. Kiev, Naukova Dumka (1993). The controllability of affine systems is considered by these methods. The controllability conditions of the motion equations of a rigid body with two rotors about its mass center are obtained.
