Homological properties of powers of the maximal ideal of a local ring (Q5945587): Difference between revisions

Let \((R, \mathfrak m)\) be a Noetherian local ring. It is known that the natural epimorphism \(R \to R/\mathfrak m^n\) is a Golod homomorphism for all large \(n\). In the present paper, the author gives sharp upper and lower bounds of the largest \(n\) such that \(R \to R/\mathfrak m^n\) is not Golod. The \({\mathfrak m}\)-adic completion \(\widehat R\) is a homomorphic image of a complete regular local ring and the associated graded ring of \(\mathfrak m\) is a homomorpic image of a polynomial ring over \(R/\mathfrak m\). The author uses these epimorphisms to give the bound. Furthermore the author studies other properties of \(R \to R/\mathfrak m^n\), for example, the smallness.
