This paper presents an application of the \(O(2)\times S^1\)-equivariant degree to study the Hopf bifurcation problem for a model of the Taylor-Couette flow, for which the authors compute \(O(2)\times S^1\) bifurcation invariants and provide a classification of symmetries and as its result periodic solutions. The authors believe that the method presented here can be applied exactly in the same way to other types of equations, including functional parabolic differential equations with finite or infinite delay or neutral parabolic differential equations.
