The authors study the existence and asymptotic behaviour of weak solutions for the initial value problem associated with a certain semilinear evolution equation of second order on the lateral boundary of the cylinder \(\Omega\times]0,T[,\) where \(\Omega\) is a bounded open set of \(\mathbb R^n\). The key idea is to associate an elliptic equation to the considered problem in order to reduce it to a standard model of mathematical physics.
