    Let \(\mathbb{R}_+= [0,+\infty)\) and let \(\Phi: \mathbb{R}_+\to \mathbb{R}_+\) be a continuous, unbounded, nondecreasing function such that \(\Phi(u)= 0\Leftrightarrow u= 0\). Assume that \(\Phi\) satisfies the condition \(\Delta_2\) for small \(u\) i.e. \(\Phi(2u)\leq k\Phi(u)\) for \(0\leq u\leq u_0\), where \(u_0> 0\) is fixed and \(k> 0\) is a constant. For a function \(x: [0,a]\to \mathbb{R}\) such that \(x(0)= 0\) consider the \(\Phi\)-variation of \(x\) defined as the supremum of the numbers \(\sum^n_{i=1} \Phi(| x(t_i)- x(t_{i-1})|)\), where the supremum is taken over all finite partitions of \([0,a]\). The authors consider the following integral equations of Hammerstein and Volterra type, respectively: \[ x(t)= g(t)+ v\int^a_0 K(t,s) f(x(s))\,ds,\quad t\in [0,a],\tag{1} \] \[ x(t)= g(t)+ v\int^t_0 K(t,s) f(x(s))\,ds,\quad t\in [0,1].\tag{2} \] Under some assumptions it is proved that the equations (1) and (2) are uniquely solvable on the interval \([0,a]\) in the space of functions with bounded \(\Phi\)-variation.
