The notion of isometric multiple HNN-extension is introduced. It can be applied to a finitely presented group \(A=\langle X\mid R\rangle\) with pairs of isomorphic finitely generated free subgroups \(U_i\simeq_{\varphi(i)}V_i\) for \(i=1,\dots,n\). Some geodesic conditions on the associated subgroups are assumed. Under these conditions the multiple HNN-extension \(B=\langle X,s_1,\dots,s_n\mid R\), \(s_i^{-1}u_is_i=\varphi(i)(u_i)\); \(u_i\in U_i\), \(i=1,\dots,n\rangle\) of \(A\) is almost free. As a corollary, Wise's example of a CAT(0) non-Hopfian group is almost convex.
