A topological space \((X,\tau)\) with a partial order \(\leq\) is called a {topological ordered space} and written \((X,\tau,\leq)\). This structure is said to be {completely regularly ordered} if (i) for any \(a\not\leq b\) in \(X\) there exists a continuous increasing real-valued function \(h\) on \(X\) such that \(h(a)>h(b)\) and (ii) for any \(a\in X\) and any closed (in \(X\)) subset of \(X\setminus\{a\}\) there exist an increasing map \(f:X\to [0,1]\) and a decreasing map \(g:X\to [0,1]\) such that \(f(a)=g(a)=1\) and min\(\{f(x),g(x)\}=0\) for \(x\in F\). Additionally, \((X,\tau,\leq)\) is said to be \(T_2\)\textsl{-ordered} if \(\leq\) is closed in the topological product \(X\times X\). A question attributed to Brümmer asks whether a \(T_2\)-ordered space which is completely regular must be completely regularly ordered. \textit{F. Schwarz} and \textit{S. Weck-Schwarz} [Math. Nachr. 161, 199--201 (1993; Zbl 0804.54028)] gave a negative answer to this question but their example fails to have a base of order-convex sets. The purpose of this paper is to give examples showing that even with the additional conditions of having a base of order-convex sets and being monotonically separated, a completely regular ordered space need not be completely regularly ordered.
