The authors study the manner in which some formal logical theory, named the theory of evaluating expressions, can be used to model the meaning of some class of natural-language expressions. The modeling of the meaning of fuzzy IF-THEN rules (linguistic descriptions) is presented and a basic schema of fuzzy logic deduction is discussed.
