The main topic of this paper is the investigation of the long-time asymptotic behaviour of solutions of a coupled nonlinear system consisting of Maxwell's equations with polarization and a related equation determining the behaviour of the polarization in which no damping occurs. Decay estimates are provided for the nonlinear damped waves for the case when the damping is localized to a neighbourhood of a suitable subset of the boundary.
