    The authors study sufficient conditions under which the nonlinear integral equation of Hammerstein-Fredholm type \[ x(t)=g(t)+ \int^1_0 k(t,s)f \bigl(x(s) \bigr)\,ds \] or Hammerstein-Volterra type \[ x(t)=g(t)+ \int^t_0 k(t,s)f \bigl(x(s) \bigr)\,ds \] has a solution of bounded variation.
